Most recommended: Top 5 places to try the beef noodle in Hanoi Capital City

Pho is a famous dish in Hanoi that many tourists coming to Vietnam have to try once. The noodle is soft, and the broth is sweet with the taste of pork bones. Also, the fragrant cilantro full of the bowl will surely make you satisfied. And indeed, we can't ignore a specific kind of Pho: The beef noodle. Sweet beef, fragrant noodles make you nostalgic. Below are the top 5 recommended addresses for your best taste in Hanoi.

Pho Gia Truyen - No.49 Bat Dan Street

Pho Gia Truyen Restaurant is a must-visit place to enjoy the most authentic Pho flavor. Visit the restaurant to eat a bowl of rare beef noodles, with a cup of raw eggs, meat, rich soup. It is regretting to miss bagel twists available as a side dish. On weekends or peak hours in the evening or the morning, you may have to queue to bring the bowl of Pho to the table by yourself.

Although the restaurant is so crowded, no customers have complained about the restaurant's service and the quality. The noodles are chewy but soft, white, and fragrant with the smell of new rice. The broth is naturally sweet, and the fresh beef is cooked on the spot, eaten with cilantrou. All the spices mix to create a unique specialty for your experience.

I used to live a few blocks from Bun Bo Nam Bo for two years. You will easily miss the place if you aren't' looking for it. It is THE BEST bun bo that I had in Vietnam, hands down, and I would come here at least once a week. Don't expect an elegant restaurant. This place is all business, and it is wonderful. Long aluminum tables down the middle where you will sit next to young couples stopping by here on their way out for the evening or on the way home from school. They really only serve Bun Bo (and not very interesting nam or pork rolls which you can skip). Bun bo is one of Vietnam's great dishes, and it is made perfectly here. You'll have a hard time finding it anywhere as good as this anywhere else.

Great little place to eat Pho Bo (Beef Noodle Soup) for around VND50,000 (apx. 1.80GBP/2.20USD).

On entrance, the lady was cooking a huge pot of fresh broth and smelled good. Unlike many places, here you have a choice of having raw beef or sliced cooked beef. I like to have the best of both worlds, so i ask for a mix :).

The broth was flavorsome, however a little too heavy and oily for my usual taste. The beef and noodles were good and soft. Having this for breakfast really kick started our day and the overall experience was to be surrounded by locals - gets a tick from me here also :).

Overall I would say, if you are around town in Hanoi, be sure to drop by this place to have a taste of what locals like to eat in Hanoi.
